Tasting Notes:
As with previous vintages, this bottling of Delicacé opens with red fruit aromas of strawberry and spice. The mouth feel is full and rich. The flavors echo the nose with delicate flavors of strawberry pie and hints of rhubarb and pomegranate. The acidity is firm, contributing to bright notes and a lingering finish.
Ready to drink now, and with proper cellaring, will continue to increase in complexity for as much as 12 years.
Vineyard Sources:
The core of this wine is the 2A clone from the highly respected Ferrington Vineyard near Boonville. The wine was rounded out with input from Klindt Vineyard 777 clone and Conzelman Vineyards Pommard, both in the cooler “deep end” of the valley. |
