Tasting Notes: Red fruit, and brown spice dominate the aromatic profile on this vintage, with decedently rich tannins, making it a big red that drinks well now, yet has good ageing potential.
Winemaker’s Notes: Our first Obscura blend was the result of a happy accident. Hidden in a dark corner of our storage cellar, this blend was overlooked for a year after it was scheduled for bottling, serendipitously culminating in a wine with substantial oak character, full body and lush, graceful tannins on the finish. Our 2018 Obscura emulates the first vintage with the same extended oak aging, continuing the tradition of this big, yet elegant Bordeaux style blend.
Food Pairing Ideas: Fennel crusted lamb chops, rosemary roasted pork loin or duck confit.
