Tasting Notes: Latin for "dual", our 2020 Dualis combines two big reds, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, with each variety lending its own qualities and dimensions to this unique blend. Zinfandel brings rich, dark fruit character with a hint of black pepper spice, complemented by the more substantial Cabernet Sauvignon with red fruit notes and firm tannin structure. This wine drinks very enjoyably now, yet will age gracefully in the cellar for several years.
Winemaker's Notes: Our 2020 vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel were nicely suited for Dualis. The Cabernet vineyards used were a mix of valley floor vineyards and La Cresta vineyards, giving us depth and complexity. The Zinfandel was from our valley floor vineyard and was picked early, knowing that the dried fruit (a typical characteristic of Zinfandel) would "soak up", adding more fruitiness to the final wine. The two varieties complement each other perfectly, producing a wine with structure for refined palates, and approachability for a wide array of wine drinkers.
